Opening at Scale

What a year! Thirteen new lifts installed this build season by Leitner-Poma of America added up to 26 terminals, 199 towers, and 1,014 carriers—all certified, inspected, and ready to spin. Together, those systems stretch across more than 29 miles of wire rope and have the power to move over 23,000 people uphill every hour. Big numbers, real-world impact for our clients—and a clear snapshot of what it takes to deliver modern lift infrastructure at scale.

With the final load test and certification of the Rainier Express Quad at Crystal Mountain, Wash., Leitner-Poma of America (LPOA) successfully completed and tested 13 new lift installations in 2025. This represents LPOA finishing all projects on or ahead of contracted substantial completion dates—a core company objective. In addition, several multi-year builds are also underway.

Together these lifts span nearly 13,000 vertical feet and transport more than 23,000 riders per hour. Projects include large installations and signature lifts at major destination resorts, such as the 10-passenger Sunrise Gondola at Park City, Utah and the new Elk Camp high-speed six-pack at Snowmass, Colo. They also include equally important new additions at smaller ski areas where lifelong skiers are introduced to the sport, like Crystal, Wash.; Bretton Woods, NH; and Spirit, Minn.
