A New Chapter for Surface Lifts: Built in North America for North America

At Leitner-Poma and Skytrac, we’ve always believed that the best solutions come from understanding the unique needs of the mountains we serve. That philosophy is driving an exciting new initiative: a next-generation series of surface lifts designed, engineered, and manufactured in North America, specifically for the North American market.

This new lineup represents a focused approach to delivering dependable, high-performance surface lifts with a strong emphasis on value. By prioritizing regional manufacturing and thoughtful engineering, these systems are being developed to meet the operational realities of today’s ski areas—balancing performance, simplicity, and long-term serviceability.

In a time when global supply chains, tariffs, and international shipping costs can introduce unpredictability, this initiative is about creating greater certainty for our partners. Building closer to home allows us to streamline delivery timelines, reduce exposure to external pressures, and provide a more consistent path from order to installation.

“These lifts are about getting back to what matters most for our customers—reliability, efficiency, and value. By designing and building these systems here in North America, we’re able to simplify the process, control costs, and deliver solutions that are aligned with how our partners operate day in and day out.”

— Carl Skylling, President, Skytrac

With development already underway, the goal is to have this new series ready for deployment beginning in summer 2027—marking an important step forward in LPOA’s and Skytrac’s continued commitment to accessible, high-quality lift solutions.

Additional details and design insights will be shared in the coming months, with an early look planned at the NSAA National Convention in Carlsbad this May. We look forward to seeing you all there.
