In 2004, Medellin, Colombia was the first city in the world to use a detachable monocable gondola lift as urban mass transportation for its residents with its famous «Metrocable».
Connected to the Metro and the Tramway through multimodal stations, there are now 6 lines that play a feeder role and increase the number of passengers in the integrated transport network. The pioneering city of Medellín was the first municipality to use a new urban mobility solution by integrating an overhead ropeway line into its network in 2004.
