Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (to include, but not limited to)
- Able to operate a wide variety of machine tool equipment such as all CNC machines, drill press, lathe, milling machine, and other hand and power machines.
- Consistently works from blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings and verbal instructions to fabricate a variety of machined components.
- Able to make shop calculations using formulas to layout patterns and determine tooling feeds and speeds.
- Inspects parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
- Independently programs a variety of machines, CNC mill and lathe
- Mentors, coaches, performs overchecks and answers questions with newer employees
- Maintains equipment and perform preventive maintenance. Maintains records of maintenance.
- Sets goals for self and others to push towards an environment of doing projects correctly and the most cost effective way possible.
- Train new team members as assigned.
- Able to troubleshoot and understand CNC programs and processes.
- Able to work independently.
- Independently is able to perform Level I and II tasks.
- Moderate frequency of heavy lifting (maximum weight 50lbs).
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Moderate frequency of gripping/reaching.
- Manual dexterity is necessary.
- Ability to stand for 8 – 10 hours a day, 5 – 6 days a week
- Understand and comply with company policy safety guidelines, quality systems requirements and housekeeping standards.
- Inspect products during the machining operation to determine if parts meet specifications, complying with established standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and calibration.
- Ability to inspect and measure components using calipers, micrometers and gauges.
- Must be able to manage multiple ongoing tasks as necessary.
- Understand and comply with company policy safety guidelines, quality systems requirements and housekeeping standards.
- Ability to perform machine maintenance for daily use (i.e. tool life management, coolant, oils and fluid level and accuracy).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma/GED
- English Proficiency
- Must be 18 years of age
- 5-10 years Previous experience in CNC programming and set-up and or Associates in Machine School Technologies with applied experience.
Level III Rate information : $21.00 an hour (depending on experience of candidate) and offering a $5.00 shift differential for Second Shift non training schedules.
