Leitner-Poma of America, Inc. is a North American subsidiary of Poma S.A., a corporation with headquarters in Voreppe, France and a sister company of Leitner AG, a corporation with headquarters in Sterzing, Italy. Leitner–Poma of America engineers, manufactures, installs and services all types of ropeway systems for the ski industry, amusement parks, and urban transport.

Early POMA Chairlifts

POMA came to Colorado in the early 1950′s under the name of Pomalift, Inc., and has maintained a continuous presence in the United States for almost 50 years. From that start, the word “Pomalift” became synonymous with platter type surface lifts.

Early POMA chairlifts were installed at Squaw Valley, California for the 1960 Winter Olympics. POMA also supplied lifts for the Olympic Winter Games at Sarajevo, Yugoslavia in 1984; at Albertville, France in 1992 and at Lillehammer, Norway in 1994.

In 1981 Poma of America was established with a factory and offices in Grand Junction, Colorado, in order to have a stronger manufacturing, sales and service base in North America. Grand Junction – which is located in Western Colorado near the Utah border — was selected because its geographic location enables POMA to give first-rate service to ski area markets all across North America.

Leitner-Poma of America Inc. has three sales and service offices in addition to those at its headquarters in Colorado. The Eastern United States is served by Leitner-Poma of America East, a sales office located in Stockbridge, Vermont. Leitner-Poma Canada in Barrie, Ontario and Leitner-Poma Canada West in Kelowna, British Columbia, serve the Canadian market.

Urban cable transport is a superior sustainable solution for any city

Urban cable transport systems, such as gondolas and cable cars, present a compelling sustainable solution for modern cities grappling with congestion and environmental concerns. Operating above ground level, these systems circumvent the bottlenecks that often plague traditional forms of public transit, offering a more efficient and reliable mode of transportation.

A look into the 2020 replacement of the legendary Pallavicini lift. Pallavicini terrain is the black jewel in the crown of the Basin of the Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. When it was time to replace the lift, Leitner-Poma helped preserve the incredible experience of skiing the Pali.

The opening of the Las Vegas High Roller Wheel marks a World Record 550 foot tall Giant Observation Wheel. With the combined efforts of a global network, Leitner-Poma of America pushed the limits of engineering to provide a one of a kind experience for Caesars Entertainment and their guests.
